A magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit northern India on Sunday, with epicentre in Sikkim. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to buildings.Strong tremors were felt in parts of North and East India after an earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale shook Sikkim this evening. The epicentre of the quake is said to be just 64 kilometres North-West of Gangtok.
According to the IMD, the epicentre of the quake, which struck at around 6:11pm, was located just over 60 kilometres northwest of the state capital Gangtok.An earthquake with an intensity of 6.8 on the Richter Scale today jolted the northern and eastern parts of the country.
