Salman Khan Helps Out Bandra Fire Victims Through Being Human

Though he wasn't in Mumbai at the time, Salman Khan swung into action as soon as he heard about the destruction caused by the Bandra blaze.

Through his Being Human foundation, he arranged for the distribution of food packets and clothing to around 1,500 people who lost their homes.

Says a source, " Salman wasted no time in rushing relief. He was extremely concerned about what had happened. As soon as he realised the magnitude of the loss, he told his volunteers to get going." Adds the source, " He was not keen to publicise that the aid was from Salman Khan.

Several of the blaze hit, however, only later realised that it was from the star! They couldn't help thanking him then." Adds the source, " Bhai does not want to talk about it. But those close to him know how he coordinated the relief measures within hours of the tragedy. He was even more concerned as it happened in Bandra — a place where he resides." The star, who's has been shooting in Thailand for Ready, had flown into Vizag over the weekend for the Celebrity Cricket League curtain raiser event. After which he was back in Bangkok. But he kept in touch with the volunteers about the relief measures.

Rishi Kapoor's daughter Riddhima delivered a baby girl yesterday afternoon

Ranbir Kapoor's sister Riddhima delivered a baby girl yesterday afternoon in New Delhi. The newborn has been named Samara.

Says a friend of the family, "The Kapoors are overjoyed. They have been celebrating as the congratulatory phone calls have been pouring in."

Riddhima and her Delhi-based businessman hubby Bharat Sahni were married in 2006.

Adds the family friend, "Rishi is a nana, Neetu a naani and Ranbir a maama! It still has to sink in."

The entire family was present at the hospital at the time of her delivery. Rishi's sister Rima Jain was also there.

Ranbir had always stated that he would make it a point to be with his sister when the bundle of joy would arrive.

Today is the day this World Cup gets perilous. India take on Australia in Motera and we are guaranteed to lose either the winners of the last three World Cups or the hosts and favourites. After 33 days of preamble the juices are well and truly flowing.

And what a perfect match up it is. In the light blue corner we have the Indians who will take to the field with the finest ODI batting line up known to mankind. At the top of the order sit two of the all time greats; Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar . As an Englishman I was brought up to believe there would never be a pair to match Hobbs and Sutcliffe. Haynes and Greenidge came close, Langer and Hayden fell just short, but Sehwag and Tendulkar leave the legendary Englishmen narrowly in their wake.

Despite both being right handed they are magnificently contrasted. Tendulkar is technically perfect, quick on his feet and willing to bat all day. Sehwag hasn't moved his feet in 10 years even to run between the wickets, is technically suspect against the short ball and gets bored more quickly than a five year old boy in an interior furnishings shop. But he possesses the best eyes and speediest hands in the known universe. He has also hit his first ball for four on each of the five occasions he has batted. That is just ridiculous.

Rani Mukerji Talks About Abhishek Bachchan: "I Realise Where I Stand With Abhishek"

She recently opened up about what went wrong between Bachchan Jr and her. She addresses the touchy topic where she wasn't invited for the Abhi-Ash wedding.

"The truth is that if a person chooses not to invite you to their wedding, you realise where you stand with the person. Poor guy has been married for many years, we should all move on. I will always have fond memories of working with him!"
